In the summer of 2024, the moment had finally arrived: the first graduation ceremony for the K5 preschool class was held at the premises of the Philadelphia Christian School. Susan Weckbecker, together with her local colleagues, had prepared the children well for this special occasion.

Among the guests in attendance were representatives from the Ministry of Education, members of the local church, Principal Sotto Rasauo, delegates from Chukiyenu Village, and Manuel Rauchholz.

Dressed festively in blue, the children performed a variety of songs and short presentations that showcased what they had learned throughout the year – from colors and numbers to many other skills.

In a brief speech, one K5 student expressed gratitude, saying: “On behalf of all the students, I would like to thank PCS for teaching us here.”

Many family members and friends of PCS presented the students with gifts and adorned them with generous candy leis.

Certificates of recognition were awarded to the students by Manuel Rauchholz and Susan Weckbecker, bringing much joy to the young graduates.
